Shortage of labor and long-term yield issues are challenges that metal processing plants must face. Through the reliability of high-performance machining centers, combined with high-capacity storage cabinet systems and the convenience of trolley-type mobility, it shuttles between the production line and inspection areas. Particularly during night shifts, with the preparation of an extra workpiece in advance, the system can quickly replace materials within an extremely short time, ensuring continuous production without stopping.
A client of HHO Automation faced the challenge of increasing production capacity due to business growth. Even with the purchase of new CNC machining equipment, there was a shortage of manpower. Therefore, the decision was made to introduce automation to ensure stable long-term production (such as tool changes, precision, and reliability). Consequently, new equipment was purchased, opting for imported machines, which also helped enhance the company's image."
Customer equipment requirements:
- Procure the high-speed ROBODRILL by FANUC to enhance production capacity.
- Reduce floor space and achieve an integrated design for the equipment's appearance simultaneously. The goal is to improve production efficiency, allowing the robotic arm to move with the shortest travel distance for material handling. Enhancing production capacity per unit area is a key consideration.
- Management: Reduce the manpower requirements in the production line.
Hoho Automation designed an automated warehouse to meet the requirements of automatic loading and unloading, ensuring that material placement does not interrupt machine processing.
The overall V9 Robotic Arm Automatic Loading and Unloading Equipment is closely aligned with CNC machining equipment, allowing the robotic arm to use the shortest and most compact transfer path, increasing production capacity. On the other hand, considering the short processing time and the need for a large number of reserved workpieces to meet the demands of automation and uninterrupted production, the V9 cabinet equipment uses a hand-push cart to quickly replenish more than 1,000 workpieces at once without affecting production. With long production schedules, labor deployment is also significantly reduced.
After the full implementation of over 20 ROBODRILLs integrated with the compact V9 equipment by Hoho Automation, the efficiency of machining equipment has increased by 30%, and manpower requirements have decreased by 70%. During the pandemic, the labor shortage is not a problem, and the production line can continue to operate.
