• Why is Visual Inspection Automation Production Needed in Metal Processing?

In a customer case served by HHO Automation, the client faced challenges during the transformation of automation production in two milling machines and one lathe process. They aimed to transition from a single-station structure to an automated system to reduce process time, balance front and rear time gaps, and enhance production capacity planning. HeHe Automation proposed a solution by inventorying work hours and processes. The initial plan, which required 2-3 arms, was adjusted to a 1-to-3 AOI visual recognition automation architecture.

Since the milling time is half that of the lathe, this combination simplifies the manual transfer of semi-finished workpieces and reduces the footprint. In the original process, material handling was achieved through the use of a butterfly robot. To reduce the risk of occupational diseases caused by manual labor and to streamline the process of rearranging materials during the replacement of workpieces before and after processing, HeHe Automation implemented a visual recognition function to provide arm grabbing coordinates. This allows the butterfly robot to complete the picking and placing of materials between processes, reducing labor hours, meeting client expectations, and lowering the production cost of carriers.

HHO Automation has brought tangible benefits to its customers. By introducing two sets of 1-to-3 visual recognition automation equipment at once, the client experienced a significant reduction in labor needs, approximately 50-70%.
